Is it normal for police to follow you around and get jealous?

My friend is followed by police everywhere and recently she went to a luxury car dealership to purchase a car

Then an undercover police officer arrived and started to look at used luxury vehicles

He kept looking at my friend with a jealous face

My friend bought the car with a cheque and the officer got jealous?

Another time my friend purchased an iPhone 5 and the same officer got jealous once he learned about it

Is jealousy a sign of weakness for a police officer? Wouldn't that be easy for someone to corrupt them? Why do they hire these types of officers? There are highly educated and highly functional candidates out there who won't get jealous or become corrupted

I don't know… It sounds like the cops have much more of an interest in your friend than just his or her purchases. Sounds to me like you friend is being watched and pressed by the cops. I would be careful with your relationship with your friend. You don't want to get caught up with whatever it is the cops think your friend is doing. I can't imagine cops using their personal time to watch and be jealous of what your friend is doing. Most of them are married with children and have more important things to do.

In one part she takes the SIM card out of the phone so no one can track it. But is that also true with iPhones? Like of you take the SIM card out can the police still track your phone. Because I was think yes because it has your number. But is that true? It's not traceable if you take the SIM card out. But if not is there a way and how?
