Is it ok to keep the iPhone plugged in to the car charging port often?

Is it healthy for your iPhone to be plugged in to the car charging port so often, for like 7 hours a day? Would it affect the battery?

It would hurt the battery because it would always be charging, they generally say that you shouldn't charge your phone to 100 percent everyday because that will simply take days off the batteries life and make it seem like it doesn't hold a charge very well and also may make it seem like the battery charges slower.

To get a reliable answer, you should talk to someone at an Apple store.

The phone is smart enough to do the right thing when it's fully charged. I.e. Stop the charging. You won't reduce battery life doing what you are doing.

Apple recommend a number of things to maintain battery life (see link below) None mention don't leave on a charger.

  • Why port forwarding on port 80? I have a foscam home security camera and it needs port forwarding on port 80 if I want to use my iphone to view it from outside. Surely enough, it works as soon as I open that port. But isn't port 80 open by default? Else how could I view http websites in the first place. I don't get it. It's already open so why open it again?
  • Why does my 2010 car not have an aux port? I have a 2010 Chevrolet Colorado truck. It doesn't have an auxiliary port to plug my iPhone into, and it frustrates me because I hate having to make CDs.
