Is it OK to take pictures of someone without their consent?
There's this girl at my college, she's so hot, red headed, and extremely nice and kind to me, I think I have a crush on her. I see her around and she's also at this math tutoring center which I sometimes go to even if I don't need help. Would it be OK if I secretly took some high quality pictures of her and even video tape her with my Iphone without her knowing so I can have some nice pictures and videos for my own personal satisfaction? Or is it illegal?
Umm, if you like her so much then why don't you make a move instead of doing this. If she finds out and thinks you are harassing her, I doubt it will turn out well. By the way, how old are you?
I think that it is what it says."taking".taking a picture. No one should be allowed to "take" anything from someone without asking first.
It would be fine if it was in public, discreet and a one-off.
If you followed her and did this regularly or persistently then it would be suspect and possibly could be defined as stalking, harassment or privacy invasion and if she was distressed it could be seen as intentional infliction of emotional distress.
However a discreet one time photo or brief video would possibly be OK.
Perhaps you could ask her permission? Why not make it known that you find her 'interesting' and see what her response is… But if she declines you have to stop with the filming and photos totally.
Covert taking of photos etc could become tricky after a while.
No you are obviously obsessed.
I'm featured almost every day on the people of walmart website. So people are allowed but you sound like a dangerous man.
No
Not without her consent
As long as it's in public property it's hard to argue since you could have been snapping tree pics instead but in your case, if she finds out, it can define it as a nuissance and invasion of privacy. She may find out and ask you to stop or make trouble for you by getting a lawyer to send a cease and decease letter or file a complain with the police.
or file a invasion of privacy against you or list you as a stalker/ or sue you.
I think it's legal as long as you don't put them on the Internet or display them in a public place.
But I agree with the person who said you should ask her out rather than secretly taking pictures of her. Invite her to hang out with you and some of your friends sometime. If she says yes, then when you're hanging out, ask one of your friends to get a picture of you and her. Take other pictures of your friends and ask them to make silly faces or something so it doesn't look creepy.
And if she says no, then accept that she's not into you, and try to move on. Do NOT try to take pictures of her as that could be kind of stalker-ish.
Yes it is. As long as you keep it to taking pictures and not harassing her, it's totally fine. I have to agree thought you should make a move, and maybe she will give you some "intimate" pictures down the road
As long as the pics are taken in a public place.
It IS legal, though like one of the commenters said you can't follow her around and persist etc.though photos in a PUBLIC place are perfectly legal and to anyone saying it isn't go here -> http://tubecrush.net/ its a site where women take pictures of men on the train without their permission or knowledge.anyone calling you sick or whatever is sexist just like the site tubecrush which stated 'we felt like men taking pictures of women on the tube feels different - it's not the same as gay men or women taking pictures of other men'
- Will someone be able to take their iPhone with them in the army? Like, not only be in the army doing the told exercises they'll tell you to do in the army; But would someone be able to bring their iPhone with them if they're making music on the iPhone?
- Is there an app where you could call someone without them knowing and listen to their surroundings? Is it possible to do this without them installing the app on their device? For example an iPhone? I don't want to listen in on anyone I'm researching modern technology for a project.
- Is their other ways of putting music, pictures etc on your Iphone without itunes? I find using itunes a pain in the *** most of the time and too restricted to only using one way. I'd like to find other ways of me putting music and pics on my fone without going through itunes for everything.
- Is it legal for someone take videotape you without consent if you are underage? I was driving home and was followed by some couple who, when i stopped, were videotaping me with their iphone. There was no one around, then they proceeded to cuss me out. Is it legal for them to have videotaped me if I was alone, under the age of 18, and did not know these people?
