Yes, Torrents, aka Stolen Software, generally run on machines they are programed for. At least long enough to insert the Virus/malware that use that "free" software as a hook.

It's technically possible, but Apple doesn't allow any BitTorrent clients on the App Store, so you can only do it if the device is jailbroken. Also, iOS has fairly strong application security, so files downloaded would only be visible within the iOS torrent application by default. It's really not designed for that sort of thing.

  • What's the best computers to run programs like R and ArcGIS? I'm looking at getting a new computer and I'm pretty heavily leaning towards getting a Mac, just for the convenience of compatibility between the Mac and my iPhone mainly, and it's also pretty good for someone like myself who is a student. But I'm also going to be needing to run programs like R and ArcGIS on it and was wondering if a Mac was good enough for this or should I go for a PC? And if so, any suggestions on which particular laptop?
  • What is the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit in the iPhone 5S? I was wondering what is 64 bit and why does it matter on an iPhone? What makes it different than the iPhone 5 or any other smartphone right now, and should we really care?
  • Utorrent slow speeds, the one plan? I'm using the one plan to tether internet to from my iphone 4 to my laptop. All seemed fine to start off with but once i decided to try and download a torrent i discovered that my speed seem to be capped for peer to peer downloads, i was just wondering if anyone else has heard of or experienced anything to do with this as i can't find any articles or post about it online and figured that someone else would of surely posted something if other people experienced the same problem.
  • On utorrent download speeds suck? I don't know why but i'm paying for downloads speeds at 150 MBPS from cox communications, but when i go to download something from you torrent it says downloads speeds are at 26kbps which is ridiculous. My laptop is the only thing connected except for my iphone which i hardly doubt the phone is using 150MBPS.
