Is it possible to unlock iPhone 4s on 6.1?
So I haven't been keeping up to date on which firmware is actually unlockable nowadays and I'm trying to do a favor for a friend but I'm not entirely sure if it's possible yet. I want to unlock an iphone 4s on ios 6.1 currently in Canada. To be quite honest i don't want to have to buy a special sim card or anything. Is there any free possibilites available?
No software reliably unlocks anything on ios 6.0 and up yet, not to mention (at least down here in the US) unlocking is now illegal, as of today actually. The three month window is up, so very few vendors will still unlock after tomorrow. Certain unlock tools do exist, but I'm not sure if cellular vendors have them. Go ask, if they don't have one, then you're ou of luck for now.
Ios 6.1 beta 5 is out, so the official ios 6.1 will be out soon, at which point a jailbreak or unlock is almost certain within the week after.

To unlock iphone. There are three ways
Firstly, factory unlock. You need to contact to your operator for unlock you iphone.
Secondly, download the UltraSnow from cydia. Btw, it's unavailable to jailbreak the 6.01 now. And the team of jailbreak said that they will announce the jailbreak as soon as but not the ios6.1. The ios 6.1may be need to wait at least 1year.
