Is it possible to use a bolt-on on an iPhone to get unlimited internet access?

Hi - I have a Blackberry curve 8520 at the moment, i've asked for an iPhone 4s for my birthday which is later this month. I got my Blackberry 2 years ago, pay as you go. I purchased a bolt-on from o2 which I pay £5 a month for, which gives me 300 free texts, 500MB of data and unlimited wi-fi access. I only wanted the wi-fi access so I could use BBM and go on Facebook. That's also exactly what I want to do on my iPhone.

Will I still be able to use the same bolt-on on my iPhone to get the unlimited wi-fi access?

Hopefully I made sense, sorry If I sounded a bit confusing. It's frustrating me trying to put it into words to get my point across.

Wi-Fi is nothing to do with your phone provider (like orange or O2 etc) EVERY network will give you free Wi-Fi. Because it's nothing to do with them!
If you have a Wi-Fi box in your house, then you can get free Wi-Fi on anything, including your phone.
If you get an iPhone u won't need the 'bolt-on'. You can just go into your settings, turn on 'Wi-Fi', connect to your Wi-Fi box, & that's it! Your up and running to use the internet on your phone (including iMessage).
However, if you go out of the house/ Wi-Fi range, then the iPhone will use 3G internet. This IS something which is through your phone provider & you will get charged for it. For the example from your blackberry, this is the 500mb data. You should be able to easily get this on your iPhone. Just tell the person who serves you that you want a data allowance & they should go through the options for you.

I hope you understand this! It can get complicated, i know.
But basically- Wi-Fi= free on any phone
3G = data (MB) allowance - providers charge you

The iphone doesn't have a usb port

It all depends on whether you are using the same contract. Most iPhones are sold as part of a new contract so you would need to check whether unlimited Wi-Fi was available on the new contract. If you were bought an unlocked iPhone you could simply buy an O2 SIMM, register it and the same contract conditions would apply

My iPhone contract does have unlimited Wi-Fi at various Wi-Fi spots

  • Solar charger for iPhone5 DIY plug icon instead of lightning bolt? I'm building a solar charger for my iPhone 5 and I'm almost there! I've run the circuit through a 12v power supply and the circuit works on my breadboard and the lightning shows up. I'm pulling around 18v with my solar panel into my circuit yet the "plug" icon shows up instead of the lightning bolt icon. Any suggestions will help!
  • O2 data pay and go? Bolt on? Hi, I got iPhone 5 for christmas. On my current sim card I have a bolt on and it's £7.50 per month and that gets me unlimited data. When I change my number into my microsim and start using my iPhone will this stay? I was looking on the o2 website and they don't offer that bolt on anymore.
