Is it rude to use a Bible app for your bible while at services?

On an iphone or tablet? If you regularly go to services does your place of worship have a policy for or against it? What are the pros and cons?

Of course it is. If you're not interested in paying attention (any where, not just church) don't go. Other people are interested, so stop annoying them.

Several people use tablets in our JW meetings, they have an app for several Bibles and read/compare verse by verse when a scripture is being read out (the rest of us non techis, still use the hard copy).

Only if it is on an apple product

I don't think it would be rude, as long as you do so discreetly, so as not to disturb others or be disruptive. Of course, if your church has a policy that electronic devices not be used at certain times or in particular areas, you should follow the policy.

Only if the minister is giving a boring sermon

  • Why is the Bible one of the most downloaded APP on the iphone? A. Because it's true B. Because it's accurate C. Because it's awesome D. Because Jesus lives.
  • Where is the devotional content for the bible app? My phone is a Nokia Lumia 520 and I downloaded the bible app by lifechurch which has josh mcdowell's devotional plans. When I start the plan, all it shows is the scripture for the day but no devotional content unlike in IPhones and Ipads. So, where do I find it or where in the app is it located? I tried settings but there's none.
  • Was it rude/wrong of me to have said this? I was sitting in the class and using facebook(I was bored and professor wasn't in the class). So this random dude besides me says to me: "I guess you use your iPhone 5 just for facebook and calling, right? Why did you have to buy such an expensive phone if you only did that?" Me: Excuse me? Why do you even care? Did you have to pay for it? Anyways, I didn't buy iPhone 5 but I got it as a gift from my parents for getting into this prestigious college.
  • Using location services on iPhone while cellular data is off? If I have turned off cellular data on my iPhone 5 and have location services on, will I be charged? In other words, do location services use cellular data when Wi-Fi is not available, even though I have turned off cellular data?
