Is It Safe To Take Apart the iPhone 5 When it's On?
I was wondering if it is safe to take apart the iphone 5 when its still on? I want to fix the screen and I have no way of telling if what I'm doing is fixing it without putting it back together and turning it on. Since the iphone 5 comes apart with the screen first, can i keep the phone on while i lift the front screen away from the phone? Or if i do it while its off but turn it on after its already apart?
Any help would be appreciated.
You can do it but I wouldn't recommend taking it apart. I would just get it fixed somewhere that specializes in phone repair. They have all the right tools and know how and can probably fix it without voiding any warrantys.
You probably shouldn't. I suggest that you force shutdown the phone by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds. Then you should be good to go.
I wouldn't risk it. Sounds pretty dangerous. Try getting a professional to do it for you.
- Will Apple know if I took my iPhone apart? I want to only take the screen off but nothing else. I just want to look at the LCI. Will Apple find out that I opened it? I also ordered a kit that gives you the correct tools to open it.
- What will happen if the black part behind my iPhone screen is scratched when the iPhone is apart? So I was going to replace my iPhone screen but we realized that we ordered the wrong thing so while my phone was apart I was putting the 6 acres back together that's on the left and right side of the screen and the black part got scratched and when I turn the phone on there's a bunch of colorfully lines and I can't use the phone. Is that scratch the reason the lines are on it like that?
