Is it still possible to downgrade to an older OS on an iPhone?

I heard of people doing this originally when ios7 was first released and some didn't like it. I suppose IIm pretty late here considering 8.4 just came out but does anyone know if you can still put an ios6 version on an iPhone 4s? Mine is currently running 7.1 and it runs okay but I fear that updating to 8.4 would make it even more sluggish than it already is. 6 would probably make this phone feel quick again so if anybody knows how or if this can be done I much appreciate the advise, thanks!

You can't downgrade. Unfortunately, iOS doesn't allow anyone to downgrade the version of iOS. Also, if you did downgrade, almost every app on your phone (if not all of them) would stop working because most apps require iOS 7 or 8. The only way to get iOS 6 would be to search the internet for an old iPhone that is still running iOS 6 and buy it.

6 would also make it so no apps would run. People don't waste time writing apps for an outdated system that no one uses anymore.

  • Possible to downgrade ios 6.1.3 to 6.1.2? I had ios 6.1.2 last night and this morning and was jailbroken but then downloaded a faulty program which bricked my phone and made me have to totally reset everything. Besides going to the apple store with my newly reset phone and sya something is wrong with it is there anyway that i can downgrade the ios? Iphone 5 user. If not is there anyway you can jailbreak a 6.1.3 iOS
