Is jailbreaking an iPhone worth the risk?
I'm NOT going to do it because I care about my iPhone too much, but is it worth jailbreaking it to people who have?
My friends have… They have cute writing on their phones, little hearts at the very top next to the time and they have different icons for different apps and different coloured keypads and everything just looks amazing but is that really all you can do? And how do they do it?
Even though I would LOVE to have that, I know I wouldn't be able to anyway.
Like, is it illegal? Will it mess up your iPhone? If I were to do it, which side would let me 100% jailbreak it to get these things?
Is there more to a "Jailbroken iPhone" and what can you do to one?
It's not illegal. You can do it online yourself or pay someone to do it for you. I like it because I can run Wi-Fi off my phone for other devices, but I don't really use all of the other apps.
There are tutorials on YouTube or ask your friends to help you do it. The thing with jailbreaking is that if you still have a warranty on it and it breaks, once they find out that you're jailbreaking it (I forgot but yeah, might be some consequences).
- Should i risk cutting my mini sim to a micro sim? I have a iPhone 3GS but i recently bought myself an iPhone 4. I found out that i will need a micro sim as opposed to a mini sim, but i was wondering if i should risk cutting it down with a kitchen knife or something. I'm currently with vodafone and have had my sim card for about a year if that affects it? Is it easy to do? What are the risks? Am i likely to mess it up? What are problems faced when doing this? Any extra info would be much appreciated.
- Is there any risk in buying an unlocked iPhone? I'm out of contract with AT&T, with a 3Gs. My son tells me I should buy an unlocked 4s from a private party to preserve my unlimited data plan. Aside from taking the usual precautions for a high dollar private transaction, are there other concerns? If I walked into an Apple store with a question about using the phone, could they tell its status, and if so what could they do to me? Also, is unlocking a phone the same as jail-breaking it?

- Is it worth jailbreaking your iPhone 4? I can't decided wheather i want to jailbreak it or not. My iPhone is already 1 year old. Maybe a pros & cons list might help? I just really like the look of it and stuff, thanks
