Is th iPhone 3GS still worth buying?
I want to get a smartphone and I can get an iPhone 3GS for only 100 dollars (factory unlocked and brand new).Is it really outdated or is it still pretty efficient?
Outdated. Doesn't have latest software, old, thick form factor, terrible screen and camera… Get an iPhone 4 or later.
4S is free on 2 year contract, go that route.
Its a fine phone if you want to BYOP Bring Your Own Phone and don't want to be locked into contracts.
How can it be brand new when Apple stopped making them last year? There's no point spending extra to get it unlocked when you'll need to connect it with a service anyway. You've said nothing about your carrier. Your carrier may be unable to service your phone for data and maybe even voice. It doesn't have LTE connectivity and can't get iOS 7 which means you can't get apps that require iOS 7 or update older apps that may require it. If it was free and you knew it would connect with your carrier thennid say it was okay. But $100?
Hard to imagine getting a 3GS brand new since they haven't been made new since September 2012. Anyhow, it also no longer gets iOS updates but it is still in the app compatibility area at iOS 6.1.3 where most apps require iOS 4.3 or greater.
I'd personally look into getting an iPhone 4 if anything, but if you can't the 3GS would be fine.
- It it worth buying the iPhone 3GS? I'm currently on the Samsung Toco Lite and I want to buy and iPhone. I can't afford the iPhone 4 and I can just afford the iPhone 3GS NEW from eBay. I was considering getting the Samsung Galaxy Ace but I would prefer and iPhone. So I've been iPhone 4 for about a year now and I decided to have an upgrade because it's running so slow on iOS 7:c I'm wondering if the 5s is still new and up to date because the iPhone 6 is coming up and Apple usually buries their older iPhones when two years go by. Like is it worth getting the 5s rather than waiting on the 6 and is it still up to date with technology right now
- Is the iphone 3G still worth buying in 2012? My old android broke so I needed a replacement - I looked on ebay and found a refurbished iphone 3G for about £120.So I'm not sure if an iphone released in 2008 will still be very good in 2012. Opinions?
