The 5c is basically recycled parts of old iphone 5's. I believe the C stands for "color." The only difference are the color choices that the 5c comes in.

No. IPhone 5c has the same specs with the 5, only its rear cover has more color options and it's a little lighter than 5.
You can take 5C as the colorful plastic version of 5.
5C is a little better but most of the specs are the same. 5 is going away and it will be 4S, 5C, 5S.
5c has better 4G/LTE capabilies (more band frequencies)
I just got a blue one and it is 10X BETTER THAN THE 5.
