Is the iPhone iOS 7 a free iPhone update?

I'm still confused with this, I have the iPhone 4 and will be upgrading to the iPhone 5 I September. When I get my iPhone 5, will it be an iPhone update or is it actually a phone? This Modern day technology is so confusing!

All updates are free but upgrading to a new phone isent

Upgrade = New phone
Update = New, free software

Ok, when you upgrade to the iPhone 5, then yes, you will feel like you're upgrading phones because of the increased specs and improvements made since the iPhone 4. As for what you can do with it, it's pretty much the same as the iPhone 4 with some apps feeling a little bit smoother and opening faster for the iPhone 5 due to the improved specs.

As for iOS 7, yes, it's a free update that's given to the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod 5th Generation, iPad 2, iPad 3, and iPad 4. The iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5th Generation will be getting all the features that iOS 7 is giving. Hope this helped.

It will be free when it is released in October. However, you can get it early if you sign up with a developer and register your UDID. I registered mine at http://www.ios7udidregistration.com/purchase-udid-registration for 7.99. Only took a few hours.

  • Update stopped during ios update own iphone now phones broke I connected my iPhone 4 to my computer (iTunes) and started doing the update through iTunes. About five minutes into the update iTunes in my computer stops working, causing the update to of course stop working. Now my phone will not turn on. On the screen it is black with the 'charge symbol' as if it were low on battery and an iTunes symbol. I have tried turning my phone off and on, but of course it didn't respond.
  • New iOS 6 update, find my iPhone update? I don't like the new find my iPhone update is there a way to change back to the old find my iPhone but keep the new update? It's not showing locations like it used to and won't even how me major boroughs like Croydon. Streets are difficult to see, much smaller picture. General *** compared to the older version.
  • Is the IOS UPDATE 11.2.2 update The one that is supposed to slow down the older Apple Phones? If this is the one, I don't want that. I have an IPhone 6s+.
  • Is the iOS 6.1 update on iPhone 3 safe to update? On my first iPhone there were problems, and the update didn't help it wiped out everything and among other things had to get a new iPhone. The iPhone I have now works, so should I risk this update? It's a 3GS.
