Is the Verizon edge plan a good plan for me?
I have the iPhone 4 and really want to upgrade to the 5c or 5s --not sure yet. Anyway, I also would want to upgrade to the 6 when it comes out. Should I get the edge plan so I'll be able to upgrade it or should I wait all the way until the 6 comes out?
Some key points from right off of Verizon's website is that in order for you to get the iPhone 6 when it comes out in August/September would be that you would have to have a minimum of 50% of your current Edge Up phone paid off and it must been in good working condition with no significant damage as determined by Verizon. When doing the Edge plan you are required to pay an additional fee to pay off the phone faster and receive an upgrade once a year. The website will tell you the additional fee for the phone you choose. Considering you are wanting a new phone in less than a year you would have to double whatever the additional fee is, so if its $30 you'd need to pay $60 plus whatever your monthly bill already is. That can total up to paying quiet a bit of money every month. So if you are not planning to upgrade every year then it's not worth it. But if you do plan to upgrade every year and take really good care of your devices then this is the way to go.
I would go to the Verizon website and read all of the information on the Verizon edge program to make sure that it is what it says it is.
You would be paying almost $30 per month for Verizon edge with a Iphone. You are basically just paying for your next upgrade in advance. I would just save that amount of money and pay for your next phone out right.
I think that the Verizon edge is a scam. Verizon will never get unlimited data again. I also believe that contract providers are over rated and prepaid is the future of cell phones.
- Will Strava iPhone app work on t-mobile 2g/edge? Right now t-mobile only offers 2g/EDGE data speeds for unlocked iPhones brought to them. Is that fast enough to use the cycling app Strava?
- Verizon s7 edge switch to metro pcs not receiving some texts? I have a verizon s7 edge phone that i recently switched to metro pcs service. I'm not receiving some texts from iphones and sms texts. I have tried many ways to flash firmware 935u using odin without success. Verizon said phone is NOT carrier locked. Metro pcs people don't know a solution. I have searched the internet for existing solution and have not found one that worked.
- Is there a way I can switch to Verizon edge even though my 2-year contract isn't up? My poor iPhone 5c has a cracked screen and some of the letters are really hard to use with the screen! I never got Applecare or any type of I've had my iPhone for a 18months (1year & 5months) and I was wondering is it an option to upgrade early and participate with Verizon edge plan even though my two year contract isn't up? I've heard of something called the early edge and is that still available with Verizon or no? (Please NO RUDE COMMENTS!)
- Is their anyway to change the edge to edge screen configuration on the iPhone XS? I hate the edge to edge miss the earlier models? The iPhone XS is a better phone but I much prefer the iPhone 8 and earlier model design. Wish their was a way to make the screen on it smaller or less long. Like how the other ones have he home button with the black bar on the bottom and top not full screen.
