Is there a aux cable that plugs into a cars cigarette lighter?
My 2006 cobalt does not have a aux input but i want to play music from my iphone i think i remember my friend having a aux cable that plugged into their cars cigarette lighter plug in do they make those?
The lighter is just a 12v power supply. It has no way to transmit music.
I expect what you saw was an FM transmitter. The transmitter plugs into the lighter for power, and on the other side it plugs into the phone's audio port. It takes the audio coming from the phone and broadcasts it over a weak FM frequency which you tune your radio to and that's how your phone plays through the car's radio.

- Why won't my AUX cable work in my car after iOS 6 update? Ever since I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6, I have been unable to play music in my car (Kia Soul) with the AUX cable.
