Is there a device that allows stand alone Wi-Fi for just my iphone?

I don't have a computer so obviously I don't want to add internet to cable or land line, and I don't know anyone I could share with. I've heard of "portable hotspots" - is this a solution? Or does some part have to be linked with the above?

Verizon has their MiFi device, which allows you to connect wirelessly to several devices using the 4G LTE network.

Its a device about the size of a deck of cards, and plugs into the wall

Only the newest iphone models support 4G internet, the old models use 3G

Your iphone should have an option to add a data plan from you cell phone carrier.

Well from experience I found that cell phone companies provide the devices to have hot spots but also some phones have the capability of becoming their own hotspotsuch as Verizon I believealso what AT&T has this device and capability on their phone service it really all depends on what service you're using

If it is just for your phone, it is a waste of money. You pay to use that hotspot, just like you pay for data on your phone. If all you have is the single phone, you are paying twice for the same thing.

You can check with your carrier, but it would probably be cheaper to just get a larger data allowance than to run a hotspot along with your data plan.

  • Router only allows 1 device Internet access? I have a linksys router. Has worked fine for a while. Just got Internet back. Whatever device connects wirelessly to it first works perfectly fine. The next devices that attempt to connect to it get assigned the generic 192.168.1.1 ip and do not have access to the Internet. I have no computer, using iPhone and iPad to set this up. Dchp is on. I've reset it several times and tried. Changed the ip of the router, etc. I'm sorta technology illiterate, and need some help./
  • Is there an iPhone photo app that allows you to draw on of a photo? After taking the photo, I want to draw arrows to show the person I'm sending the picture to what to look for in the shot.
  • Is there an iPhone app that allows you to block photos? I've tried a few and they're all complicated. They make you transport all your pictures into an app instead of locking the photos on the iPhone. I want it to lock the photos as soon as you click on the photo app. I want it to ask for a passcode to access the pictures ON the phone itself, NOT through an app. Like a feature or something? My sister always goes into my pictures when she uses my phone to talk to my dad and sees my private pictures.
