Is there a Dubai (UAE) customs duty charge on parcels sent for personal gift?
I'm sending a parcel to Dubai for a loved one's birthday. I'll be sending this parcel from Australia and it will contain the following:
- Silver Bracelet
- Stuffed Toy animal
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 4 cases
The total value of the contents of the parcel is 950 AUD, this of course will be insured.
I was just wondering if the person receiving the parcel in Dubai will be required to pay a customs duty fee on arrival. I'm worried, because it'll be a little sad and shameful on my part if this person has to part with money just to receive the gift I sent them.
I would like to have any feedback from anyone who has experienced sending parcels to Dubai as well as the laws and limitations.

How much they are going to charge. When i had contact them they says that you will get another letter from customs. Do any one have experience with it?
