UAE purchased iPhone, can be used in India?

I purchased iPhone 6S almost 1 month back in UAE, Abu Dhabi. I will move to India next month. Can I use my iPhone there in India? Or I have to get it unlocked and all. IIm just worried I purchased just few days back.

Phones sold in the UAE are all unlocked and it will work in India with an Indian sim or with your UAE sim as long as you activated roaming service and enough credit.

You don't have to worry about it being locked unless you bought it "on subscription installments" from Du or ET, and therefore they give you a locked one until you finish the term of the cell company contract.
If you bought it from market shops or malls etc, surely it is not locked because you paid market price even if it was a sale price. I even bought an iPhone from Du (cell company) directly and I put an ET SIM in it, works just fine it wasn't locked.

As for GSM carrier band if the iPhone you have worked in UAE it should work in India at minimum of 2G carrier or better where 3G or LTE are there. Some of the phones in UAE market are imports from US domestic sales, they are usually cheaper than the official UAE version of same model. These US models some of them do not support all the carrier bands for international GSM networks. You can check from the serial number on Apple or MAC fans websites what model you have and what GSM bands are supported. By the way if you have Facetime App it is not UAE model.
