Is there a way to plug my Iphone into my computer and diagnose a problem?

Not that i've ever heard of. But if you know about cellphones, you should be able to isolate the source of the problem. In most cases of hardware failure, diagnosing a problem is particularly worthless because the cost of repair exceeds the value of the phone. You might as well install a whole new (used) logic board yourself if you strongly suspect a hardware fault.
