Is there are a good photo scanning app for iPhone?

I have many old photos, both loose and affixed in albums. Regular scanners are slow, scanning services are expensive, and I don't want to remove photos from albums to scan. I would like to do it with my digital SLR camera or iPhone. Prefer iPhone because with DSLR there's an extra step of transferring photos to computer.

My question is, are there good apps to do this?

Pic Scanner (http://www.appinitio.com/picscanner) or Shoebox (http://www.ancestry.com). Both are free downloads on Apple App Store. Pic Scanner has a nice feature to scan 2-3 photos together which are automatically cropped and saved. Shoebox lets you upload photos to your ancestry account. Both can scan photos directly from albums, add text descriptions to every photo, and give quite good resolution photos. The first one is faster, because it scans 2-3 photos at a time.

There are also many document scanning apps that save PDF (and some also JPG) but editing features are better for photos in the above 2 apps.

My suggestion is to scan 80-90% of your photos with your phone and the remaining (rare ones) with a flatbed scanner (higher resolution). This will give a good balance between speed and quality.
