Is this line gramatically correct?
I can't afford an iphone, and everyone is updating their OS. So i'm gonna flash my Android's Rom and make myself feel better!
Yes, can't takes an apostrophe.
No it is not grammatically correct. Can't has an apostrophe and there's no such word as "gonna". "Gonna" is a slang abbreviation of "going to" which is not recognised in any dictionary. The word "I" should always be in capitals. You don't need a comma before the "and".
ROM should be all capitals because it is an abbreviation of Read Only Memory and strictly speaking should be R. O.M.; similarly OS should be O. S. As it is an abbreviation of Operating System. The iPhone was named by Apple with a capital P.
Emoticons such as. And. Are not usually recognised as being part of proper English grammar, but will be acceptable on the internet.
So allowing for emoticons, the sentence should read:
I can't afford an iPhone and everybody is updating their O. S. So I'm going to flash my Android's R. O.M. And make myself feel better!
Unfortunately that still doesn't quite look right. I'm not convinced that you should start a sentence with "So". If the. Wasn't there I would continue with a comma instead, like this:
I can't afford an iPhone and everybody is updating their O. S., so I'm going to flash my Android's R. O.M. And make myself feel better!
Even then the sentence isn't great. That "and" combines two sentences which really don't need combining! Better to put the. After "iPhone" and start a new sentence, like this:
I can't afford an iPhone. Everybody is updating their O. S., so I'm going to flash my Android's R. O.M. And make myself feel better!
- Who does my iPhone auto correct my words incorrectly? It changed chilly to chili. Maybe it is possessed by the holy ghost. Always heard he was a bad speller.
- Please correct the sentence? I seriously don't want to buy any phone now. As i have started going to office full time, i realize how hard it is to earn money so now i don't like wasting money on such things. Its better to save money but whenever i will new phone it will an iphone for sure
- My iPhone won't unlock despite correct password? I have an iPhone 4 and the password has been the same (4 numbers) for the past 8 months. I was able to unlock it fine around half an hour ago, but now it won't work. I'm sure that I typed in the same exact 4 numbers, yet it keeps saying it's wrong and locking me out. What do I do? It won't let me sync to iTunes because my phone is locked. Again, I'm 100% sure I have the right password.
- Is this german sentence correct? Danach bin ich mit meiner Freundin einkaufen gegangen und es hat Spass gemacht, weil die Geschafte toll fur Leute in meinem Alter sind. P.S I know there should be umlauts and an esstet in this but I don't know how to get them on iPhone.
