Is wearing glasses bad for your eyes?
I'm 14 years old, and I just had my new glasses for the first time on Thursday 8-29-13. My right eye is 1.25, my left eye is 1.75.Is wearing glasses bad for my eyes? I noticed that after taking glasses off, my eyes got blurred for a while, then clear again. How long can I wear my glasses? How long do I have to wait to see after taking my glasses off? And what is best to keep my eyes from getting worse (If possible, I would like to keep my eyes from increasing the number).
Other things about my eyes, not necessary for my question. I usually have pink eyes. I can't even let a little drop of water into my eyes while i'm taking a bath. It gets sore and I have pink eyes if I let water gets into my eyes (of course tears is not count). It happens before and quite a few years before I got glasses. My doctor eyes examination told me that my eyes are healthy. But still I feel worried. I care about my health, I want to protect my health like protecting a brand new expensive Iphone.
I have the same thing happen when I remove my glasses. I see blurry for a little while and then it clears up after they have been off for a while. I wear my glasses a lot and my prescription has actually been weakened the last two times I went to the eye doctor. I can't speak for others but my glasses have not hurt my vision. The only times that I don't wear them is that recently I have felt better reading and working on the computer without them and I take them off if I'm driving and it has become dark for the same reason.
I would like to know why it is blurry when we first take off our glasses but it clears up after a short time. I have actually noticed that with signs and posters when I'm sitting in the same seat.
- Is shining an LED light in your dogs eyes bad? I was making a video of my dog on my iPhone. I was late at night( because that's when she's calmed down) do i used the flash on my phone. She was close the the phone and I'm really worried that i ruined her eyes. She's a five month old German shepherd.
- Is it bad to shine a light in your eyes for a long time? If so what could happen? When I take my muscara off some of the black stuff end up in my eye and I use my iPhone touch light to see in my eye and take out the black stuff. Can anything happen to my eyes if I keep doing this?
- Glasses that protect your eyes from laptop screen, iPhone screen, etc? So lately I have been performing a lot of work/activities on my iphone and laptop and my eyes fell overworked, irritated, dried out. This couldn't be good in the long run. So is there any type of glasses I can wear that will protect my eyes when staring at the monitor for excessively long hours?
- Does staring at an iPhone screen at night (or in poor lighting) damage your eyes? So I have really bad nearsightedness (a fairly strong prescription, kind of thick glasses & I'm only 18) :( and before I go to sleep I have a habit of surfing the web & checking stuff on my iPhone, and when I'm doing this no other light is turned on besides the light from the iPhone screen itself. Will this further worsen my vision (nearsightedness) or is it just a myth? Should I try not to do this during the night? I need REAL answers… Thanks…
