Issue backing up iPhone 5s to computer?

I'm having problems lately. I forgot the passcode to my phone(yes, i know its stupid but my friend was trying to access it and do things I didn't approve of haha.)and can't get back on!
I hooked up my phone up to the computer hoping I could at least back up things so then once my phone is restored, I'd be able to put back on my contacts and photos.

Unfortunately, it said "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "iPhone" because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."

Try to reset it this way: http://www.justtext.com/messageboards/20140113210944.html

Your iPhone automatically backs up all it's data to iTunes when you plug it in to your Mac or PC. This back up data is locked and you can set a password by scrolling down in the "Summary" tab and checking the "Encrypt iPhone Backup Box" and set a password. All your data (Music, Movies, Apps, Contacts, Photos) etc. Will be in your iTunes libraries and on file (just in case you lose or somehow delete your data) and it will always be there with your input of a password. Besides the Music on your device, you can't add anything else on a CD.

Another way of backup is easier- iCloud. Assuming your device is an iOS 5 device (iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad 1st generation, iPod touch 3rd generation, iPod touch 4th generation, and Apple TV) you have iCloud. Your iPhone automatically backs up all your data (even home screen layout and wallpaper!) to the Cloud (Apple's Servers) when your device is locked, on Wi-Fi, and plugged in charging. You will need to turn on iCloud Backup in Settings> iCloud> Storage and Backup> and slide the toggle switch to ON.

What this will do is save your data, so if something happens to your device, Example: You get the new iPhone 5 when it comes out next year, and when you setup your device, you can just tap "Restore from iCloud backup" and that's it. Your device is back to normal. (You don't have to do this by the way).

  • Would you pay to have the backing glass of you iphone changed to a different colour? I was thinking of this has a business idea. I saw that the new ipods had different backing cases of different colours and i was thinking i would really like my iphone to be blue, so would you think it was a good idea to have the back of your iphone a different colour, would you pay for it?
  • Restoring iPhone and backing it up? -Well my iPhone 4S has been going in and out of 3G to the no service circle a lot lately so I've read it's Apple recommended to restore your iPhone. -Now, my iPhone is backed up on my computer, but my question is, when I restore my iPhone back to factory default, am I still allowed to back it up after the restore so I don't lose all my contacts (300 contacts), pictures, etc. -Idk I'm a total noob when it comes to backup and restore for the iPhone: p.
  • Is there a difference between backing up your iphone on icloud and itunes? I reset my phone and couldn't find the backup on iTunes however I found it on iCloud, is there any difference between the backup?
  • Iphone won't sync. Just says backing up? Whenever I just plug my phone into my computer it just says backing up when I try to put some music on?
