Issue with windows 10 not recognizing iphone and CF card?

Recently my computer has stopped recognizing my CF card and my iphone so that I can get photos off of them. However itunes does seem to work for my iphone and for the CF card I can use my old little card reader and then plug that into the usb port where it seems to work instead.
Can anyone help me with what this means and what I need to do to get it working?

There may be a driver issue or a registry issue preventing your computer showing up the iPhone and the CF card.

If that doesn't work try cleaning the registry with ccleaner.

If ccleaner works then you can uninstall it as it only needs to be used once and places extra unneeded resources on the computer, if it fails you may be left with a glitch that can only be fixed by backing up your data wiping the hard drive and doing a clean install. This is rather drastic and would be a last resort if all else fails.

You answered the question. You say, one card reader works but the other one does not work. The iphone and CF card are good. Look in control panel/device manager to see what is going on with the bad reader. Uninstall it and re-install
it using the latest driver from the OEM site. Hardware does go bad, however.
