It's 2014 shouldn't we be having flying cars by now?

I'm 20 and I grew up on a lot of science fiction. So when I looked to see the future I thought we would be more advanced than this. Sure some of the technology we have is quite impressive like: video games, computers, the Internet, HD TVs, smartphones and tablets, etc. But other than that the world still looks the same. Where is my flying car, my jetpack, my robot butler, moon colonies, phaser rifles, domed cities, underwater cities, food pills, etc? Why does the future suck so much?

I highly recommend watching"The World in 2030" by Dr. Michio Kaku , he talks about the advancement of technology and where we're headed, and they are on their way to Mag lev cars, they have jet packs that you can purchase or make ( but I highly recommend not doing so http://www.smartplanet.com/blog/thinking-tech/video-inventor-builds-homemade-jetpack-using-cheap-spare-parts/) http://www.martinjetpack.com/, they are working on automatized butlers but they have reprogrammable factory worker computers that can do any task as long as it is cabable of doins so and you add it's programming to its software they are relativly cheap arond the 10-15k range last time I checked - saw a 60 minutes video on them. Moon colonies would be BA, we do have lasers that ionize the air infront of it and then shoots a high amperage voltz down the ionized air - it is a very lethal weapon. A domed city wouldnt be practical I don't think but It is possible, underawater cities I think we're far from, and we have food pills kind of, - their is a movie called soylent green in where they take the old people and use them as a source of food - in a related topic someone made an all nutritional (except deficient in vitamin d only) drink that costs about 60$ for a weeks worth of this green mush that just requires water. I think that the world is too preoccupied in their flappy birds on their ipods and iphones to pay attention to the scientific discoveries that happen every week.

Believe it or not we actually have flying cars, but they are too expensive, noisy and dangerous to use. If you think of it, there's no point of flying car, because it is ike a mini airoplane. Anywasy, don't expect to see flying cars in the streets until 2046

Because money dictates if it's not profitable it won't be invented we have past the age of discovery we make money

Still too early to think about that, first. Every human should have a car

I know haha! I'm a 90's kid and I always thought by now we would have that sort of stuff by now, that cool technology! I think maybe by the year 3000 we will have flying cars haha

That's because there's a cover-up. The Federal Reserve in America is like the Inquisition.
They censor our history/science/religious books and cover up any truly significant invention.

The Jetsons takes place in 1999.

No. You watch too much Back To The Future movies.

  • What can I use to attach iPhone to a flying drone? I'm a proffesional photographer mainly photographing cars, and this Sunday is the weekly car show that I go to and my friend has a hovering drone that he is going to bring. We're trying to figure out how we can attach his iphone to it so it stays secure so that we can take pictures/videos that will turn out good to put on my photography page. We've considered Velcroe/Tape so far but are not sure. Any recommendations/help would be appreciated thanks.
  • Is Deer Hunter 2014 not loading for anybody else right now? When I click on the app it shows the lower case g with the rifle and the black background, then goes to my home screen. Iv rebooted my phone and closed the app completely out. Even checked for updates. I have Iphone5 and update iOS. Oh and I was playing for about 45 minutes not to long ago. Any suggestions on what is happening?
  • I'm flying for 9 hours, how do I save my iPhone 4S battery life? I'll be flying to New York in a week, how do I make sure my iPhone battery won't die in the first 2 hours like normal?
  • Flying to a different state to meet someone you me online? Have you done it? How did it go? How long did you know them before meeting? My situation: I met this girl on an iPhone app that had nothing to do with dating or even really making friends. She messaged me we just chatted and three years later we still text all the time. She's 22 I'm 24, I want to meet her and she says she's okay with me visiting but never seems like she's thrilled at the thought. Not really sure what to do.
