Itunes is not recognizing iphone 5?

I have an iPhone 5, and i wanted to sync some new songs today. I plugged it in and it seemed to be fine then i did an update for iTunes and now i try to sync i can't because iTunes doesn't even recognize my phone is plugged in. I've used multiple USB cables so it can't be that. I also ran diagnostics and did the steps but nothing is working and it is very frustrating. Anyone else ever run into the same problem and have a solution?

This is an epidemic this month! I answered this 3-4 times already - but here goes again (it happened to me!). You must UNINSTALL iTunes, Bonjour, and anything else related to iTunes. Your MUSIC will be Ok - leave it alone. Then go install and OLDER version of iTunes - you can search for one. All your stuff will come back. Then you will be prompted to install the update - and go ahead, it will be fine.
