ITunes problem: can't sync ipad, iphone after reinstalling Windows XP?
I had to reinstall Windows on my PC, and obviously I also downloaded itunes once again. But now i can't sync my ipad and iphone! I want to add new songs on my iphone and I can't!
When I try to "sync music" it says //"Are you sure you want to remove existing music, movies, TV shows, books and tones from this iphone? "---"---"from other itunes libraries will be removed and items will be synced from this itunes library."//
SO, should I click "remove and sync" or what! What exactly will happed after that, what information/files/apps will be deleeted? I'm afraid of losing all my photos and videos! It's not a big problem if the songs disappear, but just not the photos. How to solve this problem?
Yes, You will definitely lose SOME files from the device if You go ahead and allow the sync.
The term sync basically means to make 2 different locations look exactly the same. This means that whatever's on one of the systems but not both will be removed from the other one. This matters BECAUSE…
With the iTunes settings You SHOULD be able to tell the program which location has the files You want to keep permanently, which means to either update the DEVICE to match Your dloads folder, or update the DLOADS FOLDER to match the device when You do a sync.
Otherwise, if that's not an option, The device is basically a USB flashdrive, with extra security settings for use in iTunes. You CAN use any disk-copy program to copy the files on the device, and then copy them back to the device later if You run into a problem with the sync, same with the dloads folder.
I'd recommend burning a CD with zipped copies of both the device and the dloads folder, checking the settings for the device-sync features/options, THEN running a test sync.
That's not a big deal. Just backup the items you want to keep first. Then you can try to sync your ipad and iphone to see what will happen. If you want them back, just add the backup items to your iTunes library, then sync your ipad and iphone with iTunes.
You may try this free iOS device backup tool: Syncios. Actually it does work much better than iTunes!
- Reverse sync iPhone4 music to iTunes on Windows 8? I have a new computer and I need to take my music library that is currently on my iPhone 4 and transfer it to my new iTunes on Windows 8. All purchases have been transferred but how do I transfer the other music that was acquired differently? I can't seem to be able to access the hidden music folders contained in my iPhone. Any free software? Other ways of transferring these files?
- Reinstalling whatsapp on iPhone 4? I installed whatsapp when it was free in the App Store. It's giving me trouble now and the only solution is to delete and reinstall the app. However, now the app is paid in the store. If I reinstall the app now, will I have to pay for it?
