Keep getting calls on Iphone 4S about furthering education?
I have a Iphone 4S which I bought New at Verizon. I have Verizon wireless. Over the last 10-12 days, I have been getting calls, early in the mornings and afternoons. So far I have counted 13 calls, most are different numbers from supposedly different states.
I looked up all of the numbers and it seems like majority are scams that have to do with furthering my education grants.
I'm a college student have been since for almost 2 years. I have not recently looked up anything pertaining to college grants nor filled anything out recently. So I'm wondering, where are these people getting my cell phone number? I do not give that as primary number either. I have blocked the numbers, but more call. My cell number is on the do not call registry as of last year. Locations showing up on phone are from MD, NJ, NY, CA, DC, PA, etc.
What else should I do? I keep blocking all of them but still am getting these?
Anyone else having a sudden increase with these calls?
Stop blocking the numbers one at a time. Download an app that allows you to BLOCK every single number that is not in your contacts. That it won't matter if you are on the Do Not Call list (which you must first tell them not to call and wait 90 days for them to remove them from their call logs).
Blocking all non contacts numbers, keeps all those PRIVATE, UNKNOWN and random spoofed numbers from getting through. They will all be forced to leave voice mail and most robo calls drop connection as soon as it detects an answering machine or voice mail. So if the person calling is someone you actually know, they will/should leave a message.
If you don't care if they get a chance to leave voicemail or not, you can test apps that pickup and hang up on all calls that are not part of your contacts. Or use a service like YouMail as your voicemail, instead of your cell carrier's voicemail. This way you can setup several message boxes, one for family, friends, co-workers, and random unknown callers… With the random unknowns getting a pickup hangup.

- What if your return has been accepted with the Education Credits? My return was accepted on Jan 25. I efiled with Turbo Tax on Jan 11. I did claim the American Opportunity Credit and the software used Form 8863. I'm very concerned and confused! Does this mean that my refund will be delayed because of this particular credit? Or is does "Accepted" mean it's good to go! The Turbo Tax Iphone app says to expect a refund before February 20 ( initially it said Feb 10… ). Any help is greatly appreciated!
