Keeping playlists when syncing iPhone with new computer?
Ok so my computer that I use to sync my iPhone songs has just died. Luckily we have an iMac which has all the music I need anyway. Although it is all the same music, it does not have any of the playlists I have made on my old computer or phone.
If I connect my phone, I'm I right in thinking that everything will be deleted, so I will only have what is on the iMac and therefore none of my playlists. Also what happens about apps?
Is there anyway to keep my playlists when I sync my phone for the first time to this iMac?
Back up your phone to iTunes on the new computer before syncing it, this will preserve all your playlists.
- Syncing my iPhone to a new computer for iTunes If I sync my iPhone to my iTunes library on a different computer just for the iTunes library, will everything on the phone be completely erased? Or will just the music be replaced?
- Syncing iPhone with a new computer? I connected my iPhone 5 with my dad's computer once, and then I got my own laptop. Now, I'm trying to sync my iTunes so that I can download music from my own computer (Windows 8). When I check "sync music" it tells me that it's going to delete everything from my iPhone. I'm fine with losing the music that's currently on my phone, but I'm worried that it'll also wipe out all of my pictures. Is it possible to sync only my music, not pictures?

- Quick formatting iPhone? Deleting all data, but keeping the current iOS as brand new? Besides going to settings-general-reset-Erase all content and settings? It takes hours long to format. I'm not asking for the restore with itunes. I want to format it quick. Any tools available in the software market?
