Kids Clothing? Am I a bad parent?
My Two kids (Zoi aged 13 and Zahara aged 15) do wear brand named clothes and this one mom got all angry about it to me and said I should buy them walmart clothes.
now I buy them brand name clothes like (Uggs, Lulu lemon, Hollister, wet seal) you get the point but its usually all on sale. My kids came up to me one day and had their birthday money in hand and told me "Mom we will buy our lulu lemon pants and uggs from now on since we want to pick out what we want" and I was happy and joyful and grate full. Now I go to Hollister and my kids pick out things that look like its 39$ but the amount comes to be $9.99 see, I never taught them to look in the clearance but they always tell me "Mom the clearance has cute things" and I got them both skirts for 3.50 each. Now I don't mind paying for some school out fits for them and when we go to wet seal we do the wall deals of 5 things for $20 and then they can pick out ONLY one item that's not on sale but reasonably priced, and I don't mind it.
Now I wear Lulu lemon and my oldest likes the jackets but I didn't want to pay $65 so she looked and found one for $30. I still shop at Target for clothes in the teen section since the tops are comfy and some of the shoes are to die for. But I did recently found at Fred Meyers they had converse on sale, and both of my kids are 3's in kid size shoes and they both wanted white ones and FredMeyer had a half off coupon so I grabbed the last two that were in size 3 and surprised my kids. Am I bad?
Added (1). Also to add, my Husband and I recently switched our old phones (Iphone 5s to iphone 6s ) and gave our old 5s ones to our kids since they had the 4S for about 3 years now and they love the 5s ones better than the 6s which i'm glad they aren't bad about them. They do not beg for things and when were out and about and something on sale I usually get it if they were good in school or did all their chores.
Nah i'm a 13 and i wear brand ones as long as they are resonable priced. You should go to Ross if you have one nearby they literally have the best shirts and pants in the juniour section for less then 15 dollers Almost all of my clothes are from there and my friends always ask me 'where did you get that shirt'and omg i love this so yea. Also the shoes are cheap but not bad quality at all there are convers and other named brands too. I also got one of those cute tumblr backpacks that cost like $50 but it was on $20 there. Also tj max is good but i don't really shop there
If it is within your range and you can afford it then I do not see the problem with that. One thing I like about thisis that your kids appreciate the difference in price range and this is definitely a good trait you have bestowedon them. So, NO you are not a bad parent.
Your a great person. I mean wtf your not gonna spend 1,000 of dollars on clothing when you can buy it cheaper xD and if your kids r happy and your happy then it's all good ^_^ and tell that parent to back off and mind her own stuff! Like dude we all have budgets and limits on how much to spend lol!
You sound like a great parent, don't feel bad about yourself. Your kids seem sensible, they know to look at clearance items, etc. Honestly, most people are living the way you do, I do not understand why that person told you that you were being a bad parent. If you are spending within your budget then there's no harm in buying your daughters what they like to wear. Have more faith in your parenting style, do what you feel is right. I think that you are doing a great job, but if you do not like the way your daughters are acting, you can change what you are doing. At the end of the day, the way you raise your children is up to you, not anyone else.
