Laptop can't connect with wi-fi?
I've always used this "plug-in" internet broadband (looks like a usb flash drive) for my laptop in university but now that i'm back at home, i can't connect my laptop to our Wi-Fi. Our network doesn't appear on the list of available Wi-Fi connections and i'm afraid it can't connect to any other Wi-Fi connections as well. When i open the list of available networks, it only shows the "portable broadvand" even if i haven't plugged it in. I tried unistalling it too and still our Wi-Fi network doesn't show up. My laptop has recently been reformatted and i've read somewhere about this "Wi-Fi adapter"? Could this be my problem? And how would i know if i have it? And if i would be able to download it for free? Also, if anyone might suggest the "Wi-Fi button" in my laptop, no, my laptop don't have it.
I know that my laptop is the problem since my ipad and iphone can connect properly with our network. Please be patient with me for i have very limited knowledge with laptops, Wi-Fi and other techie stuffs. Lol basic instructions/explanations are appreciated!
Thank you!
Added (1). Sunny: i tried it already but still the same

Added (3). Ah nvm! Figured it out!
You can try to reboot the computer
Most Wi-Fi adapters turn on from the front, side or back & the light will be flashing.once on it will auto-detect the adapter. After doing this get rid of that drive as you were doing, then reboot in normal mode. In windows start-control panel-internet & set up the adapter.type in the password[network id] located on the router
You can get the driver for your Wi-Fi from your laptop manufacturer page. That is the Wi-Fi adapter you mentioed. Google your computer (for example Acer Iconia w510-1422, or whatever yours is named) and search for it's wi-fi driver. You should be able to download it for free.
Install, and see if it works.

- One laptop can connect to our home Wi-Fi network but no other devices can connect? We recently set up a wireless internet connection in our house. One laptop can connect to it (the one I'm currently on) but no other devices can connect to it. It says our "Network Security Key" is mismatched. I have tried typing in all the different codes on both the router and modem on both our second laptop and an iPhone 5. How can I fix this?
- My Wi-Fi won't connect on my laptop but will connect to my other devices (an iPhone and iPad)? I have a MacBook Air. Sometimes it does connect but other times it just won't. It takes ages connecting and then in the end comes up with the exclamation mark or is just blank. Is this a problem with my laptop? I've tried researching the problem but have found nothing.
