Limited Internet Access using Router?
OK, here's the story. If I connect by laptop with a cable straight into the wall socket I have internet access. No problem. But thing is I want Wi-Fi for my iPhone. So today I went out and bought a wireless router. I connected the router to the wall socket and my pc to the router.
Then suddenly my connection says 'Limited Access' ie no internet. I tried connected to the router with my iPhone and even the it connected to the router via Wi-Fi it also got no internet. I did follow the setup steps by going to the ip address they gave to me and setting up a username and password but still no internet.
And as soon as I connect my laptop straight to the wall socket again I have internet. Connect it through the router and suddenly limited access again.
Any tips on how to get the router to work?
I too have similar problem
- What's the difference between a cheap router and a good router? Just wanted to know the difference between a cheap router and an expensive router, I know that is a very broad question, I'm just a bit confused on how a router works. Does it increase my Internet speed on multiple devices? I get 50Mb per second, Well at least that's what I pay for. I have a PS3 two iPhones and a tablet, as well as a desktop PC that is wireless. Can anyone recommend an excellent router under $150
- What does it mean when your internet says connected with limited access? I have a windows vista that's 2008. My house internet went down yesterday so I had to take the plug out of the internet and plug it back in after 10 minutes. Then everything worked but today my laptop says connected with limited access but my iPad internet and iPhone works fine. So what to do? I tried everything on google but it didn't work. My sister said its like something I downloaded but I didn't download anything since like 2 weeks. So what to do?
- Router only allows 1 device Internet access? I have a linksys router. Has worked fine for a while. Just got Internet back. Whatever device connects wirelessly to it first works perfectly fine. The next devices that attempt to connect to it get assigned the generic 192.168.1.1 ip and do not have access to the Internet. I have no computer, using iPhone and iPad to set this up. Dchp is on. I've reset it several times and tried. Changed the ip of the router, etc. I'm sorta technology illiterate, and need some help./
- My laptop says 'limited connectivity' to my Internet access? My mother just recently bought five new iPhones, one for each of us in our family. We have Comcast Xfinity as our Internet data plan, and I'm wondering if the arrival of our new iPhones took up the limitation of Internet access in our house. Before we had iPhones, we just had three computers and an iPad in our house. So, is it the iPhones that took up most of our Internet connections, and if so, how do you expand the limitation of devices for our Internet connection?
