My 32GB iPhone only has 28GB?

I just bought a new iPhone 5 32GB, and in settings it says i have 25.7 left and have only used 2.4GB, putting me at a starting memory of 28.1. I thought i paid $300 for a 32GB and feel like i just got ripped off

Its because the software they give you take up space like youtube, calendar, calculator etc.

You didn't it needs your pre-downloaded apps like messaging, facetime, camera, contacts and so on and that takes up a few GB

Some of the memory is reserved for the file allocation table

The 4GB you missing is basically the Operating System and all of the thing you have to have on the phone because of Apple, ex. Notepad, Calendar, iTunes.

Nope, you'll never get the full capacity as the iOS and default apps take the space that you're missing. Same thing in Androids or any other phone. You never get the full capacity as the OS takes some space. Think of the system drive of your computer.

That's cause the default apps like iTunes, App Store, Notes, etc take up a few of the GB.

  • Is there an iPhone timer app that has a minutes-only and/or a seconds-only option? I'm looking for a timer app on my phone where I can set a timer that counts down, but have it read literal minutes or seconds. Like instead of 6:00:00 for 6 hours, I'd want it to read 240:00 (240 minutes) or just have it read 14,400 seconds. I've downloaded about 20 free timer apps, and can't find what I'm looking for. Is there one? Even if it costs money? But I'd prefer it to be free…
