My Computers USB Ports not working?
Recently, whenever I would unplug something in my Compaq computer it would make the USB port completely useless I can't put anything in there anymore and I've tried a lot of things however I can't use my mouse and keyboard because USB ports are working and it is the USB wireless adapter and the iPhone charger I have in there so is there anyway I can fix it without like downloading anything?
Try this: Turn off computer (start / arrow / turn off).Unplug power cord (for desktop), remove battery and unplug power supply (for laptop) Press and hold power button for 20 seconds.
It should reset all CPU errors
You mean you unplug a USB device and all the other USB devices don't work anymore (keyboard, mouse, iphone, USB wireless adapter).
1.It could be causing a short circuit but that would put the USB port into protection mode and Windows would give a message.
2.It could be a compatibility problem. What are you plugging and unplugging?
3. Try a Linux live CD like Ubuntu to see if you get the same problem. If you do, then it is a hardware issue.
