My cousin found an IPhone 4S. (Read details)?
I was with my cousin and two friends and he found an iphone sitting on the bench outside the Deli. He decided to take it and he tried calling the owner (or one of the contacts) but couldn't as the phone was locked. It has been 2 weeks and no one has tried contacting it. He took the SIM card out and is trying to reset the phone as no one has contacted the phone. How would he go about doing this? If he connects it to iTunes can the owner of the phone track the phone to his house and retrieve it (if he has find my iphone etc.)? Or will he just be able to reset it? If you give non biased, positive feedback you'll get 10 points.
This alsi happens with my smbody known brother. He got iphone 5 in amarnath by his dad.
if you want owner to contact then put that sim which is micro. Sim
in any other phone and search fir contact if saved on it.
and if not. There and some ways like pressing volume up down and power key make reset. Try to searh on topic how to reset ihphone.

There are 2 choices here…
1. If you really want the owner to be found and returned, as ABHI said, put the SIM card back and wait for the owner to make a call. If it was on tracking via "Find my iPhone", he would track it but you need to be on the wireless connection at least because he might have disabled the SIM card… Go to Starbucks, it auto connects to Wi-Fi… Just see if that gets on the network and you might a message from the owner on the phone via iCloud
if Not, try to see which network SIM card it has… If it is AT&T, take the SIM & Phone to AT&T and tell that you found the phone and looking for the owner… (do not give them the phone though or they will block it) … They can find Owner based on SIM number…
2. Or try to check the finger print on the password lock and make 2-3 guess… Not more otherwise it will disable the phone…
3. Put the phone in DFU, and restore the phone via iTunes, it will be iOS 7… If he did not have iCloud setup, probably you can activate it otherwise it will be rendered useless.
4. One more try is,
Connect the phone to your computer and tun software TinyUmbrella… And see if Cydia has SHSH BLOBs for this phone for earlier OS (other than iOS 7). If yes, restore the phone to that iOS version via redsn0w and you will get lucky.

Should I flat out tell my parents or what?
