My former employer is trying to force me into paying his employees?
I worked at a mall Kiosk for 4 months for an illegal immigrant. A month after working there, he left to LA to get more product (chill out buddy inflatable) and told me to hire 2 girls so I wasn't working 12 hour days 7 days a week while he was gone for 2 months. That's what I did. We got paid at the end of the day depending on how much cash was made. 1 girl was paid off before he came back and fired her, but he still owes another girl over $150 for 19 hours worked. He told me when he came back and fired everyone "I'm giving you this iPhone, it's worth $400. Then I'll give you $250 to split between the 3 of you" he never gave me the $250 and the girl has been messaging me for months asking when I can pay her even though it was never my kiosk I just helped him run it and hired her. What can I do about this?
Talk to the mall management, tell them you and her will go to the police and file a report. If they do nothing, go to the police and file a report.
Nothing you need to do. Tell her to contact the state department of labor and give her the name of the employer to name as the business that didn't pay her.
If you want to form a partnership with the boss, in which you share in both the profits and the expenses, then start talking with him. If you do not want that, then let him know that you are not a partner and not responsible for his expenses. Then look for a new job.
Tell her to stop calling you and start calling the guy you worked for. BTW, it sounds like what you were doing was illegal.
YOu are not responsible for the employees wages. Call the police and file a harassment complaint against both of them.
YOU hired YOUR employees. They were NEVER employed by the thief that conned you into running his kiosk. I DEFY you to prove otherwise.
Give the girl your illegal bosses phone number
Tell her to file a wage claim against the owner of the kiosk with the state labor board for your area.
So you dealt with an illegal immigrant, you in turn made employment contracts with other people on his orders, and now you want help? That's rich.
You are the only one who ever touched the paperwork these girls signed on with. That makes you responsible. And when he bolts or gets deported, just who do you think is going to be liable for their wages?
Tell him to pay them or you report him to ICE.
And if he doesn't, report him. And pay taxes on everything you have made, or you will end up being charged with tax fraud.
- Why do employees' families are not allowed to take part on the company's promo programs? Say the company is Apple. There's a promo where they are giving away 10 iPhone 6 and 5 iPhone 6 Plus for 16 lucky winners (each receive either a 6 or a 6+)
- When are Sprint employees supposed to get the iPhone 5? I was wondering why Sprint employees aren't getting the iPhone 5 on the same day that the customers are.
- Is there any way I can use my deceased father's iphone X even though I don't know his password or his e-mail password? My dad passed away recently. He had a fairly new iPhone X. I'd like to use it as my own phone but I don't know the passcode. I watched a video on how to restore the phone but I still can't use it because the phone is connected to an itunes account… And since i don't know his e-mail password, i can't reset it. I went to AT&T (where we were on a family plan) but they said they can't help me. Is his nearly new phone destined to be a paper weight?
