My iPhone 4 dies really fast and won't charge?

So I have an iPhone 4 that I've had for a while. Lately it's been having a lot of issues. The main issue now seems to be with the battery. It dies super quickly, it was at 100 percent charge like an hour or two ago and now it's at 50 and I've barely used it. Also when it fully dies, sometimes it takes hours or even days for it to turn back on again when I put it on the charger. Also it only charges when I connect it to a wall port, it doesn't charge if I connect it to my laptop. It also takes a while for texts to be delivered to me through iMessage. People have told me that it takes anywhere between a minute to an hour for an iMessage to say 'delivered' when they send me a message (I'm out of data so I can only message on Wi-Fi). So, what do you think the problem is and how can I fix it?

Iphone 4 we're already at the iPhone 6 you're far behind in technology and usually phones last for 2 years before they start getting useless so if you've had your phone for awhile then it's just your phone getting to old.

Your phones just getting old. If you purchased it two years ago (or longer) you should be due for an upgrade. I would wait until September, that's when you'll see a price drop for the iPhone 6.
