My iphone 4 is overheating, what do I do?

All of the sudden my iPhone is getting super hot, as soon as i turn it off it cools down, what can i do to make it stop?

I don't know what your brightness is at but I'm just saying it may have something to do with it, also having a lot of apps in the multitasking bar all running puts a lot of strain on the i-device. Try powering it off and then decrease brightness and then delete the multitasking apps. This may do nothing too so in that case call apple/ see if anyone else has the same problem.

I've had this experience before, I think its due to an app that glitch-ed and can't correct itself, rebooting the phone or terminating the app in question will make it go away like you said. This happened to my iPod a few times, I didn't do anything once and it drained the battery dry, it wasn't even a background running task, the device became warm and became slow. If its an Apple app that you can't rid of, then just watch out next time and perhaps avoid the task that caused it.
