My iPhone 4 will not connect to my home Wi-Fi?
I've had my iPhone for over a year and this has never been a problem before (this started happening last night). My mom's iPhone (also an iPhone 4) has been having the same problem too.
There was a storm last night so both of us just used that as an excuse, but my laptop's Wi-Fi is working absolutely fine, with no problems what so ever.
So far, I've restored the iPhone to factory settings, restored the network settings, and restored all the settings. Restoring it back to the original factory settings and restoring all the settings both helped for a little while but eventually my iPhone would just disconnect from our home Wi-Fi and refuse to reconnect (I would keep getting the "unable to connect to network" message).
Any ideas as to why this is happening/how to fix the problem? My mom has also only had her iPhone for a few months, not nearly as long as I've had mine.
I don't know if it matters or not, but neither of the phones have Siri. Both are just regular iPhone 4's.
If you are both having the same problem, then it is a pretty good assumption that your router is having problems. I would try unplugging your router for a few seconds to restart it to see if that helps. If not, then there's usually a little button on the back that will let you reset it to the factory settings, and I would suggest trying that next.
If you are still having problems connecting, than perhaps you should consider buying a new router.
The computer will find and connect to your wi-fi but the storm could have reset something or the security signal.
click
Forget this Wi-fi choose and delete
open wi-fi click
OTHER network put in routers name and then click
SECURITY and pick the first one
click back button
and put is password and connect.
DO this again picking WEP-WPA-WPA2 ect
Until you have tried each one. Your router may have WPA- or WEP
you will have to repeat each one and try signing in.
once you can remember the security signal protection for next time.
- Why can't my desktop connect to our Wi-Fi at home but does connect to moble hotspot? Suddenly my desktop won't connect to our Wi-Fi. All other devices such as laptops, phones and tablets connects just fine. I tried connecting it to my iphone's hotspot and it works. I tried to unistall and reinstall the wireless adapter but still won't work. I also tried to reboot the router and even tried to change the channel but still failed to make it work. Do you have any other way to make it work? I have windows 7 on my desktop.
- One laptop can connect to our home Wi-Fi network but no other devices can connect? We recently set up a wireless internet connection in our house. One laptop can connect to it (the one I'm currently on) but no other devices can connect to it. It says our "Network Security Key" is mismatched. I have tried typing in all the different codes on both the router and modem on both our second laptop and an iPhone 5. How can I fix this?
- My iphone will not connect to my home Wi-Fi. It can connect to any other network with no problems All my other devices at home connect with no problem, but once i updated my phone it won't connect here. I've reset the router, my network settings, forgot this network, even wiped out my phone and it still won't work. I changed the dns several times. Sometimes that works for a little while, but then eventually stops. What the hell?
- My iPhone 4s will not connect to my home Wi-Fi no matter what suggestions I try. Any suggestions? So I never had an issue connection to my home Wi-Fi before with my iPhone 4s, until 2 days ago. I have done everything; forgotten the network, reset the network settings, ect. No matter what I read on these forums, nothing seems to really work. I don't know how to do much with electronics and such, so things suggested like with the static IP and all of that, I don't understand. Please, if anyone can help me, I'd truly appreciate it.
