My iPhone 4S has got water damage. It no longer powers on throught the USB cable. What do I do?

The phone get stuck in an apple logo loop when connected via USB cable. However when it is connected to the speaker dock it powers on. I have lost cellular, Wi-Fi and bluetooth and really need to get my pictures off it. How can I get the phone to power on via USB cable? I need those pics!

Sorry to say that you can't do much with it now. If it were a computer, I'd say salvage the hard drive. For future reference if it gets wet shut it off IMMEDIATELY, dry it out the best you can. If you have the skills take it apart to where the insides are open and set it inside a cup of rice. Wait a good 48 hours WITHOUT ATTEMPTING TO TURN IT ON AGAIN. Then after 48 hours have passed turn it on and thank me later. There's a common misconception that water + electronics = bad but in reality water + electricity = bad electronics. I've seen people use the dishwasher for electronics and as long as everything is completely dry there's no issue once the current goes through it again. This obviously excludes batteries haha. I like phones with detachable batteries.

  • Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
  • Iphone submerged in water, logic board has water damage? My phone was under water for 10 sec. Atleast and in my wet pocket for about 2 minutes. Led wouldnt turn off and power / lock button didn't work… Put it in rice and two days later i charge it apple logo pops up then writing pops up above the apple logo. Will the guy taking my phone to clean it out and try to fix it need my passcode? And will my contacts, apps, photos, music, internet history still be on my phone? Like when he fixes it turns and on and stuff?
