My iphone got rained on and now it won't turn on?

I went on a super long walk with my phone in my jacket pocket and it was raining really heavily and the screen got wet and stuff. At first it worked and everything but the sound didn't work at all when my mum phoned i couldnt hear her and music wouldnt play so i turned it off and tried to turn it on again but it wouldnt switch on

i just dried it and put it in some rice, how long shall i leave it for? What shall i do if that doesn't work?

Its A Common Problem When Rain Gets On Your Phone, I've Had This Problem Lots Of Times Before With Older Phones, It Goes Into The Phone And Screws Up The Insides, (sorry i don't know how to explain that well) If I Was You I Wouldn't Take Out A Phone When It's Really Wet (sorry again for not knowing how to fix it properly)

That's the problem with phones that have inbuilt batteries and other inbuilt features. I see this happen way too many times, it even happened with my older HTC.

I would leave the phone in the rice for at least a week. However, this may not work and if the warranty has run out then I'm not sure how lenient Apple will be with this issue. Since the product wasn't damaged when you got it, they might very well say it's your fault and make you pay for the repairs. That can be really expensive depending on how much damage was done.

Your best bet is to leave it in the rice for at least a week, then take it out and see if it's working. If not the give Apple an e-mail and go into the phone shop that your phone is with (Eg 3 or Orange etc). They should help you out, Apple have a really good after care service but it depends how they'll see it.

Many people think you can fix a phone with water damage. I'm sorry but you really can't. You can put it in rice and maybe it will turn on but there will ways be something wrong with it because of that water that got in it. You will probably have to get a new one.
