My iphone got wet? Help SOMEONE?
Ok, I was about to leave the house when I put my iphone face down on my counter which was wet but I didn't know. I picked it up and it started buzzing, I have a clear plastic guard on it so I took it off and wiped the water off and switched it off leaving it in my pocket. When I got home I tried to switch it on but it won't switch on, I need help is it broken? What do I do?
Put it in rice for 24 hours
I'm not sure if this'll be the same- but a while ago my brother dropped his Ipod in a swimming pool. We put it into the airing cupboard (Anywhere hot should do) And left it- until all the water dried out. Hopefully that'll work.
Why did you laptop have water on it? Is that broken also?
If you're pay as you go, you're screwed if you're contract phone up and they will fix it for free
but to fix it yourself so to speak, leave it in a dry place for a week, you made the mistake of turning it on to soon
Take the phone apart and dry it with a desk lamp or light source that gets hot enough to dry it, but won't get too hot to damage it.
Also I would recommend getting a less expensive phone, you klutz.
Pour out dry rice into a bowl and take your case and if you have one, screen guard off and bury it in the rice for 24- 36 hours
if it were any other type of phone i would recommend taking the battery out, and leaving the back part open and burying it in the rice, but i realise this isn't possible with the iphone
My stupid self jumped into a pool with mine in my pocket. Then my dad tried to take the screen out and it broke then a wire snapped. Still sold it for 110 dollars on eBay. But take the SIM card out and te screen off and put it in a bowl of rice. If that doesn't work, sell it.
Put it on a radiator or the rice thing should work
Put it in an airing cupboard! Worked with mine
I don't think you should do the rice thing, someone i know did it and their phone worked fine for about a week then it completely broke and wouldnt do a thing so she had to buy a new one.
I would turn the device off and take your device to a repair centre as a priority. The bag of rice trick will draw small amounts of moisture but i there's still current in the device then corrosion will occur. The corrosion is what causes the issues as it causes a short circuit. I would get the device to a repair centre so that they can take it apart and remove any liquid that remains in the device. If you are confident then you can also do this yourself but you will only remove all of the moisture but opening the device up.
Slight water entry
the rice method (or cat litter is better to absord water) will work
But serious water may leave long term damage - so work for a while
You can otherwise go to an apple shop/genius bar and for 140 pounds
they will do an out of warrenty exchange…
- Wet IPhone 4 help, is my phone trashed?
