My iphone is burning up hot
Ok so my phone gets really hot plugged up and not and my battery last very little what should I do should i talk to the retailer and get a new phone?! All be appreciated 10 pts to a detailed helpful answer! TY
It's normal. The same happens with car batteries and laptop batteries.

if you havr a case then take it off
and also to save battery life double tap the home button hold down one of te icons down the bottom and press the (-) button
it closes the apps and stopps them from draining battery. It keeps the normal apps though. If it continues talk to a retailer

How old is the iphone? Is it the latest version, so a new one?
Firstly, anything that takes a rechargeable battery will get warm whilst it charges. That's a chemical reaction happening. I have AA batteries that get hot enough to burn you whilst they charge, but it is normal and not a sign that the batteries are faulty. I'm putting 6.5 amps through them (15 min charger with built in fan), which the batteries are designed to accept, so they will heat up.
As above, the heat can depend on the charging rate. If the 'iphone charges from flat in an hour or two, it gets warm because of the amount of current the battery is absorbing, again normal.
As for the battery life, if it's new, it takes a few charge/discharge cycles for the chemical reaction to work properly, so for a couple of weeks, the battery life will not be good. Treat Apple's figures as a guide, not as fact.
Turn off things like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, as these are battery killers. If you use the 'phone to play videos and music a lot, these can also run a battery flat in a few hours. If you are in a poor signal strength area, battery life will be less because of this.
If it's an old iphone, it could be the battery needs replacing. Best get it checked out. If the iphone works, rules out a short circuit.
