My iphone is defective but out of warranty can i get a free replacement?

So tonight my iphone was working like usual then a minute later i picked it back up and the screen had gone black with blue and white vertical lines. The touch screen still works i just can't see anything. I was wondering what i do and if i can get a free replacement or wondering how much it will cost me to replace the phone or pay for it to be fixed. I bought the phone february - march 2012 so it is just out of the year warranty. Any help would be much appreciated.

Added (1). The phone is an iphone 4 and i recently updated to IOS 6.1 and have been experiencing problems with sending messages and the phone freezing, my initial thought it that it has something to do with the software.

No, you can't get a free replacement. You'll have to change the screen and that will costa a couple of $100's.

I wish I knew the type of iphone?! I think after reading its manual, take it to a trustable workshop?! Maybe it, s because of its settingsp!

  • Will my iphone 4 warranty replacement give me an iphone 5? A couple things were deffective on my iphone4 and verizon is sending me a new phone in the mail under warranty, but from what i've heard apple and verizon do not distribute anything less then the newest iphone model so will i be getting the iphone 5?

  • What will happen if i have a warranty but jailbroke it but then unjailbroke it? Will i have my warranty because i really need my sleep button fixed on my iphone. is there a way to get my phone fixed. also they said they will give me a new iphone but i'm worried about the jailbreak. ps i unjailbroke it so will i have my warrenty back if not help
  • Replacement Pending iPhone. Replacement phone or fix? My iphone is being repaired and on the apple service page it says 'iPhone replacement pending' and below it says repair complete… I was wondering if this meant that my phone has been repaired or if Apple are sending a replacement iphone different than the original.
