My iphone messages app froze

I spammed my friend to thepoint my messages app froze. I turned it off and on and it still doesn't work. Its been about 10 minutes now what do i do?

Karamas a *** lol but try closing the app by double clicking home button then holding down app and deleting it then restart your phone again if it opens delete the conversation if not give it a minute and try again worst case scenario you restore your phone but i don't think that will be necessary

Me and my girlfriend were sending each other kissy faces and then she sent a lot in one message and then my iPhone froze up and now I can't view my text messages. Every time I try to open the text icon, it shows a blank screen for about 45 seconds and then goes back to the home screen.
