My iPhone says that 7gb of memory are taken up by photos?

I only have 161 photos and 29 videos (all average 3 minutes long) in my camera roll. I don't understand how it's taking up that much space.

Uncompressed videos take a relatively large amount of space. When I copied my parent's wedding video from VHS to digital it took up over 130gb+ of space uncompressed for just over 3 hours.

The amount of space consumed by your videos and photos depends on the size of the pictures and videos. The greater the resolution and frame rate the videos and photos were taken, the greater the size of each video and photo.

Usually video takes loads of space and as you have 29 videos then the videos could take most of the space up.

Plug your iPhone to pc and check the size of each picture and video in the explorer.

It takes about 6000 pictures to take up 1 GB
it takes 240 to 260 3 minute videos to take up 1gb ( depending on video Quality)
now if all of this stuff is 1080P HD then it would be 10x the amount of data storage.
so 600 pictures = 1gb
24 to 26 videos @3m = 1gb

I don't think that converting a vhs tape to computer data would be 130gb…
at max i could see 13gb
