My iPhone turns itself on and off randomly?
My iPhone 3GS has just started turning its self off and on like 20minutes ago and it's got 57% of battery left, I don't know what's wrong? And I don't wanna go to the apple shop because I don't want my mum to have to pay for a new one because we have a tight budget. And if I tell her she will go mad!
This problem is irreversible. You have what's called a deficiency in battery memory. This is why it's absolutely essential that you charge it up fully when you first get it, then run it flat completely afterwards. I'm guessing you didn't do this when you got it. You can check the Apple Handbook if you don't believe me - it says you NEED to charge it up 100%, then run it flat. Because you didn't do this, alot of the battery is for some reason destabilized and will either not be used, or give your phone ridiculous battery readings. (Tells you it's 57% when it's really about 3%) Apparently there's nothing you can do to fix it. Sorry!
If it ISN'T this and is only set off by certain stimuli (photos) you can get it checked at the Store to see what the problem is - hopefully they can trade you a new one (I don't know every in and out of the warranty scheme Apple utilizes), or repair it.
The problems you are having sound software related. Try some of these options to see if they help clear the problem:
• Try a 'soft' reset on the phone by taking the battery and SIM card out, giving the SIM a wipe with a dry cloth and then putting the phone back together and restarting it.
• Check for software updates by connecting the phone to a PC and using either the phones PC suite or checking the manufacturers website for software updates.
• Delete any 3rd party app's and try reinstalling them.
If these do not clear the problem and the phone is under warranty. Back up your data and then take the phone back to the store you bought it from or your network store and they can send the phone away for repair for you. As long as the phone hasn't suffered any accidental damage the repair will be free of charge.
If the phone is out of warranty you can still take it into a store for repair but the repair will be chargeable.
- Youtube on my iPhone turns on to desktop version by itself? Just very resently, everytime I would go on youtube using safari on my iphone, it turns to desktop every time. I tried typing in "m" for mobile version instead of "www", then it would load, but then turn to desktop whenever I search for something to watch. I recently transfered the board into an iphone 3g case, and ever since its been shutting down randomly with no warning. It shuts down on or off the charger, but everything else seems to be working just fine.
- My iPhone's volume turns up by itself I got a brand new iPhone 4S and it just randomly decides that the volume needs to be turned up. WTF! It's not the case because I took it off and it still does it. It never turns down, only up. It mostly happens when I play games. This is so frustrating!
