My iPhone won't disconnect from AirPlay, what do I do?
Basically, I always play music off my phone s speakers before bed but when I went to do that tonight, it was paired with AirPlay - which by the way I've never manually connected it to. We have an Apple TV but like I said, I've never actually connected to it before let alone today. My phone won't even give me the option to disconnect from it. I tried restarting my phone and everything, still nothing. Is there something I can do to fix this or is my phone just glitching on me? It's and iPhone 4s and I have iOS 8.
Try turning airplane mode on and if don't work try doing factory reset
There's no way to turn off AirPlay. Effectively all it is, it's saying that the phone is connected to a WLAN where there's an AirPlay-enabled streamer or server (your AppleTV). Don't worry about it, unless you choose to create a connection (eg. Mirror your phone's screen on your TV) nothing will actually happen.
But yes, for what it's worth, I agree that you should be able to somehow isolate your device from the AirPlay feature. As it stands, you can only do that by completely switching off WLAN, but it will come back when you switch back on.
