My JailBroken Iphone can't connect to my Wi-Fi?

If you want to just get straight to my problem skip to the all caps part.

I Jailbroke my iphone 4 back about 2 years ago (so long ago i'm still running on ios 5.0.1) I'll start with a little bit of back story. About 2 months ago, i noticed while trying to install an app that my storage was full. I thought this was weird considering i didn't have very many apps to begin with, and only had 2 gigs of media on it (i have an 8 GB memory) so i checked and came across a common problem with jailbroken phone, the "other" storage. So i hooked up my phone to itunes and noticed a whopping 5.4 GB of other storage on my phone. And so my quest began. I spent hours trying to get rid of it. The solution for getting rid of other storage is to factory reset my iphone. Simple. But with my luck, it wasn't. I backed up my phone and began to restore my phone, a process which is normally very easy for people, but of course, more problems. Every time i try to reset my phone on itunes, i get the problem where it endlessly tells me to connect my phone to itunes by putting it into recovery mode, and then my computer can't pick up or find my iphone. I used tinyumbrella to get it out. Whenever i try to restore my phone manually (on the phone itself) i get the spinning wheel of death. At this point, i'm like *** it. Today i tried again and after hours of trial and error i somehow deleted all media and apps possible (as well as deleting random files in the cydia app ifile) and tried again. Finally it worked. Sort of. All my music and apps are gone but now i have a full 4 GB free which would be fine. HERES THE PROBLEM. I some how got rid of the "other" storage and decided to update my phone, it then prompted me to connect to a Wi-Fi network first, when i noticed that i wasn't connect to my home Wi-Fi. When i went to my Wi-Fi settings my home network showed up and i correctly entered my wep key. Now next to my network it shows the spinning symbol that it would show if it were connecting to the network, but it won't. IT just keeps on trying to connect, but it won't. I checked every other device in my house. They all work fine. So being myself i started messing with my phone settings, trying to see if there was anything turned off or something. Then something strange happened. I decided to try and put my airplane mode on for shits and giggles, but i noticed that the airplane won't show up in the upper left hand corner. I exited my settings and went back in and noticed that airplane mode was off and just doesn't work as a whole.So. Story of my life with my neat little apple product. Currently my phone is sitting next still trying to connect to my network. Right now its pretty much just a brick charging me money for going over my 3g limit for the month. So if anyone has ANY idea on how i could fix this, please tell me and ill love you. Forever.

Some extra details: I haven't tried any other networks yet, but i don't think that would help anything.
I STILL can't restore my phone, if anyone knows how to completly fix that recovery mode bug or the spinning wheel of death, thatd be great too.
While i was reseting my phone i accidently Reset my Network Settings. So yeah. That might be why this happened. But still. I need a way to fix this.

You will have to run DFU mode erasing all the content on the phone. Connect the phone to itunes and after you have hold down both the power and hold buttons as you would of for or a reset for 10 seconds but after 10 seconds let go of the power button but keep holding down the home button for another 6-10 seconds. You will get the recovery mode prompt in itunes but this is different, it forces it to go through.

if it still doesn't work your phone will have to be replaced.

  • Why can't my desktop connect to our Wi-Fi at home but does connect to moble hotspot? Suddenly my desktop won't connect to our Wi-Fi. All other devices such as laptops, phones and tablets connects just fine. I tried connecting it to my iphone's hotspot and it works. I tried to unistall and reinstall the wireless adapter but still won't work. I also tried to reboot the router and even tried to change the channel but still failed to make it work. Do you have any other way to make it work? I have windows 7 on my desktop.
  • When I connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot, I can't connect to Gmail or Twitter? My iPhone connects to other people's networks fine, but when I'm using public hotspots gmail and twitter say no Internet connection. Why? Is there a way round it?
  • One laptop can connect to our home Wi-Fi network but no other devices can connect? We recently set up a wireless internet connection in our house. One laptop can connect to it (the one I'm currently on) but no other devices can connect to it. It says our "Network Security Key" is mismatched. I have tried typing in all the different codes on both the router and modem on both our second laptop and an iPhone 5. How can I fix this?
  • My jailbroken iPhone 4 can't connect to SIM-card after update? The title says it. I have a jailbroken iPhone 4 and as I plugged it into my computer it asked me if I wanted to update the IOS. The updating-process went smoothly, but when I started the phone afterwards it said that it was unable to connect to my SIM-card (that i bought 2 weeks before this). Does anyone know how I can unlock my iPhone?
