My jailbroken iphone is frozen?

I have an iphone 4s running on 5.1.1. I jailbroke it with green poison a year ago, when it just came out untethered. Today during lunch I opened up an app and it completely restarted the phone, once it turned back on my app was working and I thought I was in the clear. After 4 hours, it turns out I was not in the clear, I figured out it was not taking any calls or texts, so I tried to restart it and the red slider would not pop up. Then, I tried to go to cydia, to let it download the updates, and I pull down the notification center and the phone freezes and no buttons work and its been sitting there for about 10 minutes.
Is the only way to fix this by factory resetting it?

Try saving your info up to a computer and try to to do a hard restore on the phone this will wipe everything to factory settings and erase everything so only do it when you have backed up your contacts pics ect. You can do this by holding down the power button and the home button and keep holding it until the phone turns off and back on by its self
